Corne Meier from Midstream will next week take part in the KAP sani2c for the 11th time in 13 years. The sani2c is a 3 day mountain bike stage race which travels 265 kms from Underberg in the southern Drakensberg to Scottburgh on the South Coast.
Organisers of the KAP sani2c have announced a prize wallet of R 500k for the 2019 edition of the race. The event is 3 days of riding 265kms from Underberg to Scottburgh in Kwa-Zulu Natal, and it’s the largest mountain bike stage race in the world with up to 4200 riders taking part. Three versions of the event run over 5 days, with The Trail from 14-16 May, the Adventure from 15-17 May, and the Race takes place from 16-18 May this year.

Himeville – Following a third place finish with Andrea de Boer at the 2018 KAP sani2c, South Coast raised Hayley Smith will team up with Disree Verwey in 2019 as they gun for a podium finish at the iconic three-day shootout from the Southern Drakensberg to the South Coast from 16-18 May.
Many KAP sani2c riders know the name Arthur Duncan from the 2018 event. Arthur, then aged 83, completed the tough 283 kms over three days at last year’s sani2c Adventure edition, riding from Underberg to Scottburgh with his son-in law Stuart Watson. Arthur will be back for more in 2019, this time teamed up with his 18 year old grandson, who happens to be the Men’s 2018 SA Enduro Champ Keira Duncan.
