After 2020 saw a number of shake-ups amongst South Africa’s professional mountain bikers, many have settled into new teams and are ready to race KAP sani2c next month. The organisers are delighted to be hosting the usual sani2c magic, both for those looking for the ride of their lives, and for the professional teams who had very little racing last year.

DSV Pro Cycling’s Arno du Toit and Gert Heyns won the third and final stage of the KAP sani2c at Scottburgh Golf Club in KwaZulu-Natal today, securing the overall crown in a time of 06:10:38, after a convincing performance over the two days of racing. It was a wet and muddy affair making for very technical riding.
South African mountain biker Greg Minnaar is undoubtedly the world’s most successful male downhill rider in the world, so you may be surprised to hear he is riding day 2 of the KAP sani2c today, on an e-bike.
The KAP sani2c got off to an exciting start with unexpected cool weather and muddy conditions. It was a Stage 1 win for the DSV Pro Cycling pair Arno du Toit and Gert Heyns in a time of 03:01:07, and dormakaba’s Amy McDougall and Robyn de Groot were first in the women’s race with 03:26:22.
