2019 was the best year yet for the KAP sani2c with ideal conditions and a host of tweaks to the trails: “We made some solid improvements to the route this year and we are planning and working on next year’s surprises. Many new riders have signed up already and so far 28 riders who will become Mambas (riding for the tenth time) have confirmed their 2020 entries,” says ‘Farmer’ Glen Haw, Founder and Race Director.
Entries are now open for the 2020 KAP sani2c, the bucket list 3 days of riding from Underberg to Scottburgh in Kwa-Zulu Natal. Three versions of the event, the Trail, Adventure and Race, take place between 12 and 16 May. We spoke to riders who already have their 2020 early bird entries in, some of whom are stoked to be ticking off a bucket list item, and others who are back to do their tenth sani2c.
The KAP sani2c 3 day MTB stage race is 265kms of stunning scenery and flowing trails from Underberg in the southern Drakensberg to Scottburgh on the South Coast. The event is renowned for its hospitality, impeccable facilities, amazing catering and a very special vibe at the race villages. But, says founder “Farmer” Glen Haw, the ride itself is what matters most.
Arthur Duncan, aged 84, completed the renowned KAP sani2c 3 day MTB race, 265 kms of tough mountain biking from Underberg in the southern Drakensberg to Scottburgh on the South Coast in KZN. Arthur is an accomplished road and MTB cyclist, despite only taking up the sport in his sixties.
Scottburgh - The 2019 edition of the world's biggest mountain bike stage race, the KAP sani2c, wrapped up at its new race finish at the Scottburgh Golf Club, with riders unanimous that the three day race was the best ever.
