DSV Pro Cycling’s Arno du Toit and Gert Heyns won the third and final stage of the KAP sani2c at Scottburgh Golf Club in KwaZulu-Natal today, securing the overall crown in a time of 06:10:38, after a convincing performance over the two days of racing. It was a wet and muddy affair making for very technical riding.

The KAP sani2c got off to an exciting start with unexpected cool weather and muddy conditions. It was a Stage 1 win for the DSV Pro Cycling pair Arno du Toit and Gert Heyns in a time of 03:01:07, and dormakaba’s Amy McDougall and Robyn de Groot were first in the women’s race with 03:26:22.

The world’s largest three-day mountain bike stage race, the KAP sani2c, is set to be the highlight of a COVID-19 stricken 2020 race calendar, as South Africa’s best marathon mountain bikers battle it out for the title. The tough 265kms of racing between Underberg and Scottburgh in KwaZulu-Natal takes place next week from 3-5 December, on a smaller scale to comply with COVID-19 regulations.
