Partners, riders and others involved in sani2c have plenty to say about the event. If you are new to the event, you might like to hear about it from the horse’s mouth. So, here goes…

There is something about the sani2c, which will draw us back every year. Farmer Glen and his team take such pride in the route and literally manicure the entire trail for the rider. This makes the most incredible free-flowing riding. We admire how (the event) involves, uplifts and gives back to the community.

- Lance Metz & Dale Harley, who rode the sani2c Double in 2019

If you’re thinking of doing a multi-stage mountain bike ride, make it the sani2c. I’ve done many around the country and the only one I keep coming back to is this one! Besides it being the largest stage race in South Africa with amazing terrain and manicured single track, it is also without a doubt one of the best organised mountain bike events on the calendar. The camaraderie amongst the riders and organisers is something special.

- George de Beer

I’ve witnessed this event grow to the biggest MTB stage race in the world. Experiencing the vibe during the race and the overnight stops is something so special that I just never want to miss out on it.

- Flavio Scarpa

I come back every year to enjoy the trails and catch up with mates I haven’t seen in a while who share the same passion as me.

- Grant Macpherson

It’s become an annual pilgrimage away from the stresses of work and general life. The outstanding trails and post-ride banter between friends, old and new, keeps me coming back. Per (my partner) also makes small challenges for us every year, we’ve done three on ridged fork, single speeds and a gravel bike.

- Mathew Goetsch

Awesome trails, professional organisation, time with my family, mates and other incredible people and of course simply enjoying the outdoors on my bicycle in this beautiful country. Why wouldn’t I come back every year?

- Lloyd Barker

Apart from being a sucker for punishment, my annual pilgrimage is exactly that; a spiritual experience where, at least for Day One, I am reminded how blessed I am to be alive. I reflect on how lucky I am to be healthy, to have the time and resources and friends and family to partner me and allow me to make it to the start every year. To be part of a race where the organisers are so passionate about what they do, and do it so damn well, to be one of so many excited riders who embrace life and its challenges and to see the local community welcome us with such enthusiasm is an honour. And then there’s Day Two…
